This photo shows what the Utah and Idaho sugar factory in Chinook looked like in the mid-1920's when it first opened. The factory processed sugarbeets raised in the Milk River Valley until 1952 when the mechanical part of the factory was dismantled and shipped to Moses Lake, Washington where it was reassembled. After the factory closed in Chinook sugarbeets were still raised in the valley and shipped by rail car to Billings for processing until 1969.
