This market features handmade jewelry and items by native artisans. The market, adjacent to the Santa Fe Plaza, is held under a portico of the Palace of the Governors, said to be one of the oldest government buildings still in use in the nation. Sellers are approved by a committee of fellow artisans to assure all items are genuine and made by the selling artist. During peak seasons, selling spaces are awarded by a lottery each morning before the market opens.
