These two students were the only two who had perfect attendance during the 2016-2017 school year. They were recognized for their dedicated achievement the last day of school. Susan Fox was to Buffalo, WY to help her granddaughter, Lyvee Fox, celebrate her birthday. She will spend a little extra time with them over this next week as well. The Park Board would like to thank Thom Maclean for his service on the Parkboard. Thom was appointed in 2002 to represent the city on the Park Board. In 2005 when Mike Harding resigned as president, Thom agreed to accept the position of president. Little did he know that he would spearhead the Board for the next 15 years. Thom was the longest sitting president on the Park Board since it was formed in 1979. We will miss him as he was always willing to research and take part in our projects for the park. Two Blaine Countians received "Senior Citizen of the Year" awards at the regional meeting of the North Central Agency on Aging's gathering on July 21 at the senior center in Choteau. Karin Roehm, Director of Area III, said, "The annual award program is an opportunity to honor volunteers who have made significant contributions at the various centers in our region." Sweet Memorial Park in Chinook was a busy place last week as the local jump youth group helped put on a vacation bible school last Monday through Thursday. The Girl Scout house served as headquarters for the event which ran from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. daily. The Blaine County II Ambulance crew bid Don and Bonnie Harmon farewell this past Sunday at a retirement BBQ picnic at the Turner Park. The Harmon's have invested a lot of time and commitment into the Ambulance and its services over the years and the now the community will sorely miss their presence. This past Saturday Turner, Montana was the place to be if you were a car enthusiast as the 241 Grill and Tavern hosted their Second Annual Car and Tractor Show and Fly In. Visitors came from all over north central Montana and Canada to join in the fun. More than forty cars plus several bikes and tractors lined main street during the show.
