Chinook finishes 3rd at Eastern Divisional: Lions qualify 37, Harlem will send 17 to State

The Chinook Lions filled both heats in the 9-10 boys 50 Meter Freestyle Sunday. Eight of the Twelve swimmers were from Chinook with four swimmers in each of the championship heats. Pictured above is Nathaniel Plainfeather in lane one, left, Brockton Elliot in lane two and Daniel Tilleman in lane three. Tilleman won the race and Brockton finished second.
The Chinook Lions hosted the Eastern Divisional swim meet this past weekend as the 2018 Summer Swim Season winds down. The top 12 swimmers/relays in each event advanced to the state swim meet in Conrad this weekend.
A total of 383 swimmers took part in the meet, including 113 relays and 1,139 entries. The Chinook Lions had a very good weekend in the pool and will send 37 swimmers and 11 relays on to Conrad to compete in the Class AA Division. The Harlem swim team had some amazing performances as well and qualified 17 swimmers 5 relays and will compete in the Class C Division.
