If you missed the first meeting of our book club, Free People Reading Freely, there is still time to stop in and choose a book to read for before the next meeting! We have multiple copies of the Top 10 Most Challenged or Banned Book in 2017. The next meeting will be Tuesday November 12th at 7:00 p.m. in the library meeting room. Everyone is welcome to attend.

The movie today will be “The Shack” at 1:00 p.m. in the library meeting room. The movie is rated PG-13 and it runs for two hours and 12 minutes. Everyone is welcome to attend and refreshments will be served. “Lion” will be the movie next Wednesday. If anyone has a request for a movie, just let us know and we will do our best to show it. You can also let Marlene at the Senior Center know what you’d like to see.

New movies this week are “Ant-Man and the Wasp” and “Solo Star Wars.”

We have one non-fiction book ready for checkout this week. “An American Princess: The Many Lives of Allene Tew” by Annejet van der Zijl is the true story of a girl from the wilderness settlements of a burgeoning new America who became one of the most privileged figures of the Gilded Age.

New fiction this week includes the latest from Bestselling author John Grisham. “The Reckoning” is a murder mystery, a courtroom drama, and a family saga. This title is available also available on audio. In “The Midnight Witness” by Sara Blaedel a young woman is found strangled in a park and a male journalist has been killed in the backyard of the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. Detective Louise Rick is put on the case of the young girl, but very soon becomes entangled in solving the other homicide too when it turns out her best friend, journalist Camilla Lind, knew the murdered man. Louise tries to keep her friend from getting too involved, but Camilla’s never been one to miss out on an interesting story. And this time, Camilla may have gone too far. In “Vendetta” a gripping, fast-paced novel by Iris Johansen, one thing is clear: everyone has a vendetta, and no one will rest until they get their revenge
