MSU Extension Mobile Memory Café Coming to Chinook

As our communities continue to support individuals and families across all stages of life, access to reliable information and resources becomes increasingly important, especially when it comes to memory loss and dementia. One of the programs Montana State University Extension is involved in is providing Alzheimer’s and dementia support for families, helping individuals better understand and navigate the challenges that come with memory-related conditions.

As part of this effort, MSU Extension is bringing a valuable opportunity to Blaine County through the Mobile Memory Café program.

The Mobile Memory Café is designed to provide clear, practical information about dementia in a welcoming, low-pressure environment. This free, drop-in style event is open to anyone interested in learning more, whether you are a caregiver, a family member, a professional, or simply someone looking to better understand the topic.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about what dementia is and how it affects individuals, recognize early warning signs of memory loss, and understand how dementia is detected and diagnosed. The program also focuses on what to expect after a diagnosis and offers practical strategies for living well with dementia. In addition, participants will gain helpful tips for communicating effectively with individuals experiencing memory changes.

Community members are invited to attend the upcoming event on Tuesday, May 5th from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at the Chinook Senior Citizens Center, located at 324 Pennsylvania Street. This is a drop-in event, so participants are welcome to come at any time during those hours.

There is no cost to attend, and all are welcome. Whether you are currently supporting a loved one or simply want to be more informed, this is a great opportunity to learn and connect.

We would like to thank Ginger Hansen and her wonderful staff and volunteers at the Chinook Senior Center for helping to bring this event to Chinook. We look forward to seeing everyone on May 5th!

Have a great week!
