At the July 30 Hill County Commissioners meeting, Commissioner Sheri Williams announced her resignation from the District 2 seat. Her resignation became effective at midnight on Aug. 2.
Williams, a Democrat, was serving the fourth year of a six-year term at the time of her resignation. During the meeting, she read a letter stating that she was stepping down for personal reasons.
