OUT OUR WAY: "Babe"

Out our way there are still a few cowhands around. I was lucky enough to pair up with one, my pard.Charlie. Although I rode like a sack of potatoes instead of the smooth and easy style of an experienced rider, I DID have a horse. In fact, I had two: “ Doc” an “Babe”.

Regular readers of this column know about Doc - and how at the trot, canter and gallop, it was like riding a jack hammer. This “sack of potatoes” usually ended up as “mashed potatoes” at the end of the day.
