    The Blaine County Fair will no longer compete with nor complement the Fourth of July celebrations of Blaine County citizens in 2020. To make the dates more 4-H friendly and to accommodate the PRCA rodeo schedule, the dates of the fair will be August 12-16.   • Sweet Park Board Accepts Additional Funding

    The Sweet Park Board announced last week that they have nearly reached their funding goal and should be able to purchase and install new playground equipment at the Sweet Park this summer if a few more dollars trickle in to the Playground Equipment Fund. With a sizable donation from the Davies Family Endowment Fund of the Montana Community Foundation, the Park Board is seeing the finish line.     The 35th Montana Science Olympiad was held on Tuesday, November 26 in the Strand Union Building and other locations across Montana State University-Bozeman's campus. Several students formed teams to represent Chinook School District at what is billed as Montana's premier STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) competition for youth.     This summer, Zurich Elementary School will hold its first All-Class Reunion and celebrate its 105-year history. The celebration is scheduled for June 12-13, 2020. However, in 1988, the survival of the school itself was in question. On September 5, 1988, the wooden structure, which was built around 1915, was wiped out by fire. The school fire was reported about 7:00 a.m., but by then the building was so engulfed that it was a total loss.
