The Harlem Airmen Memorial Committee met on November 10th at the Zellmer household to have their annual meeting. About 6 members were in attendance and reviewed the last year activities. Two new plaques were mounted to the Harlem memorial site and the north memorial site. On Monday, November 11, multiple signs honoring area veterans appeared on Main Street in Turner, Montana. Some were displayed in front of the post office; others appeared across from or flanked the American Legion Hall. The Hi-Line of North Central Montana played host to a jazz ensemble from Atlanta, Georgia, on November 5, and the students of Turner and Dodson schools were recipients of the talent of the Jazz Legacy Project (JLP). A friend shared a copy of a map showing nearly 30 known locations where Japanese Balloon Bombs, launched in Japan and carried across the Pacific Ocean by the jet stream, landed in Montana toward the end of World War II.
