The Board of Directors for the Harlem Golf Course is optimistic for its future. Sales from their current fundraiser of 34 Guns in 30 Days has generated $6,000. Realistically they need $40,000 raised and in the bank when they open this spring. Any monies over $40,000 will be used to upgrade equipment and facilities. Two early bird drawings remain for the 34 Guns in 30 Days fundraiser as well as every day in April. On January 17th Meadowlark School had our annual crossing guard training, hosting a guest speaker to talk to 4th, 5th and 6th grade students on the importance of crossing guard safety. Elmer Zarn, Chinook's Chief of Police, spoke to the Meadowlark students on the importance and safety of being a crossing guard. The late Bill Ammen, of Turner, was honored at the annual meeting of the Rocky Mountain Association of Fairs (RMAF). The American Lutheran Church in Chinook hosted a celebration to recognize the role of volunteers in the local community.
