In conjunction with the 69th Montana Seed Show this year the Annual Art Show will be held on March 8th, 9th and 10th of 2018. Setup time will be 8:00am on Friday, March 9th. 4’ x 8’ boards will be set up and are rented for $15.00 per board. The Art Show features painting, sculpture and photography. The Chinook Masonic Lodge #50 has purchased seven Kindles for the Meadowlark Elementary. All the students from each of the grades K-6, will have an opportunity to earn one of the Kindles by completing the reading requirements set up by Mrs. Tammy Edwards the school librarian. These six nonagenarians (90 year olds) live at the Little Rockies Retirement Center in Harlem. The Hill/Blaine County Fire Foundation was created to help provide a way to distribute funds collected that were donated to the East Fork Fire in Hill County. The Hill County Commissioners opened an account at the Independence Bank to collect funds that were wanting to be donated immediately to fire relief. It is again that time of the year for all quilters to get busy and get those quilt projects finished. The dates for our annual Quilt Show at the 69th Montana Seed Show is March 9 and 10, 2018. Plant a Seed...READ (PASR) has selected the 2018 Ambassadors for Blaine, Hill and Phillips counties from the photo contest held in November, 2017. Each county has its own ambassador family who will represent their county in 2018. The Board of Directors for the Harlem Golf Course is optimistic for its future. Sales from their current fundraiser of 34 Guns in 30 Days has generated $6,000. Realistically they need $40,000 raised and in the bank when they open this spring. Any monies over $40,000 will be used to upgrade equipment and facilities. Two early bird drawings remain for the 34 Guns in 30 Days fundraiser as well as every day in April. On February 2nd, 2018 The Chinook Eagles will host a Benefit for Steven J. Mulonet from 5 - 10 p.m.. Steven was diagnosed with Wolff Parkinson White Syndrome in August 2017. On August 11th, 2017 Steven was at home when he began to feel light headed. On January 17th Meadowlark School had our annual crossing guard training, hosting a guest speaker to talk to 4th, 5th and 6th grade students on the importance of crossing guard safety.
