Sugarbeeters, Wildcats compete at Scottie Invitational

The Chinook Sugarbeeters and Harlem Wildcats were in Chinook for the ‘Beeter Mixer on Friday and then competed in the Scottie Invitational in Glasgow on Saturday.

The Sugarbeeters had four wrestlers in the field Saturday while the Wildcats entered nine.

For the sugarbeeters junior JT Hauer continued to perform very well on the mat, finishing third in the tournament at 160 pounds.

Hauer received a first round bye to advance to the quarterfinal match where he defeated Blake Jensen of Fairfield by pin (0:43). Hauer then lost in the semifinals to Sydney’s Easton Hope.

Hauer then defeated Calvin Mappes of Chouteau in the consolation semi-final by pin at the 3:46 mark.

In the consolation final Hauer was victorious, pinning Jarius Hi Walker of Hardin in 1:38.

Also competing for the Sugarbeeters were Ethan Liddle who picked up a win over Javon Snyder of Poplar by pin (0:42). The Wildcats Darrius Longknife picked up a win at 126 pounds, defeating Baylee Genereux of Fort Benton/Big Sandy by pinfall (1:32).

Lance Blackcrow pinned teammate Andrew Rasmussen at the 2:33 mark in the 145 pound weight class. Moses Smith earned a 10-3 decision over Glasgow’s Austin Hughes at 182 pounds and Brent Cole earned a win at 285 pounds for the Wildcats, defeating teammate Jeremiah Mount by pin at 1:50.

Chinook and Harlem will compete at the Holiday Classic in Great Falls this weekend
