3rd Annual Community Golf Course Fundraiser a Success

October 7, 2020

The 3rd annual community dinner and auction to support our Chinook golf course was held on Saturday, August 22. Despite the event being pushed to later in the year due to the pandemic, there was a fantastic crowd present and everyone had a great time. Social distancing was adhered too (due to the fact that we are fortunate enough to have the commercial building locally) which allows enough space to keep everyone at the required distance, while still moving ahead with the much needed fundraiser. As a small community it is necessary to hold these events to ensure that we can continue to have a wonderful public golf course! Generations before us gave of their time and money to build it and we, as a community, need to respect what they gave by fighting for it.

With the fantastic care that Mike Seymour and crew give of their time and energy we saw and enjoyed a lovingly manicured and care for golf course for a long season, despite the water shortage.

Thank you to all who donated items that sold, with the talents of Kevin Elias, as auctioneer.

Thank you to Doug White for helping out with a sound system. Thank you to Mick and Kris for the wonderful job with the baby-back ribs.

Thank you to all who stepped up and helped in any way to get this fundraiser off the ground in challenging times.

We saw some new faces there this year and were blessed with many wonderful items to present to the crowd.

Not every small Community is fortunate enough to have a golf course and I for one, am very grateful that we do! See you all next year for the 4th annual fundraiser for our very own CHINOOK GOLF COURSE!
