The July Book Challenge is to read a book featuring a baby! Check out the titles we have on display for you to choose from.
Summer Reading is flying by! There is still time to get those reading logs completed to earn prizes and chances at the grand prizes. This year’s grand prize for ages 0-kindergarten is a Code’N Learn Kinderbot robot. For grades 1-8 the grand prize is an under water camera. Teens and adults may win a $50 gift card. Summer Storytime for ages 0-5 meets on Tuesdays at 10 A.M. Elementary students are invited to Summer STEAM on Wednesdays at 1 P.M. Lego Club is held on Thursdays at 3:30 for all ages. The last week of programs will be July 20 with all reading logs due on July 22.
New suspense thrillers this week include “With a Mind to Kill” by Anthony Horowitz, “A Rip Through Time” by Kelly Armstrong, and “An Unthinkable Thing” by Nicole Lundrigan.
A psychological supernatural novel is “The Fervor” by Alma Katsu. During WWII Meiko Briggs and her daughter, Aiko, are removed from their home in Seattle and sent to a Japanese interment camp. There a mysterious disease begins to spread and the team of doctors sent to treat the ill are more threatening than the disease itself.
“Trailed: One Woman’s Quest to Solve the Shenandoah Murders” is a new true crime selection by Kathryn Miles.
Kirsten Miller has written “The Change.” Three women discover that midlife brings a whole new type of empowerment as they find themselves on a collision course with the evil that lurks in their wealthy beach town.
