Chinook Grapplers See Plenty of Success in Miles City

The Chinook wrestling teams are closing in on the postseason, and the Sugarbeeters, under head coach Ben Stroh, faced a strong test at last weekend’s Cowboy Invitational.

Held last Friday and Saturday in Miles City, the Chinook boys scored 66.5 points in the 30-team field won by Billings West, while the Chinook girls scored 66.6 points to finish 12th overall in the Cowgirl Invitational.

Individually, the Chinook boys got a sixth-place finish from Charlie Buck at 103 pounds, while Hayden Berreth placed fifth at 132. Griffin Crowley took seventh at 165 pounds, as did Julian Powell at 215.

The Chinook girls saw several grapplers reach the podium in Miles City, led by Lynley Conrad, who finished third at 170 pounds. Bailey Billmayer finished fourth at 120 pounds, and Kimber Klein was seventh at 100 pounds to round out the scoring for the Sugarbeeters.

Chinook also held its Chinook Mixer this past Tuesday (see next week for results), and the Beeters attended the Harlem Mixer last Wednesday. This coming weekend, the Beeter boys will compete in the Lewistown Invitational, and the Chinook girls will compete in the Townsend Invite..
