Time is quickly approaching for the Community Yard Sale on June 7. Eight families have signed up so far to set up in their yards, hoping many more will sign up in the next week. Sellers have two options. Set up in your yard, or set up at the fairgrounds for a fee of $25 per space. Everyone has items in their home they can get rid of, so set up a table to be put on the map. The Chinook community held a successful Red Cross blood drive on Tuesday, May 6th, with a total of 49 donors participating, including five first-time donors. Lee (Harold) Miller, 85, of Chinook passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 14, 2025 in the comfort of his family due to a long battle of pulmonary fribrosis. Lee was born March 14, 1940 in Havre; he was the oldest of three born to Harold and Christine (Hofeldt) Miller. Lee was a man of faith first and was a lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church of Chinook, MT, being both baptized and confirmed at Zion. Myrtle Franzen passed away April 29, 2025 at Northern MT Hospital. She Was born on May 4,1935 to Harry and Lena (Albrecht) Ramberg in Chinook and grew up on the family ranch south of Lohman with her 13 siblings.She graduated from Chinook High School in 1953. Myrt and Mike Franzen were married June 13, 1959 and spent nearly 44 years together until Mike's passing in 2003. The Northern C and Northern B Divisional Track and Field Meets were held in Great Falls over the weekend, and Blaine County athletes delivered outstanding performances as they competed for a spot at the upcoming State Meet in Missoula.
