    Organizers of the recent mental health fair in Chinook were pleased with the number of locals who came to the event held on May 30. A number of local groups shared information about the mental health services they offer. The first ever mental health fair for Chinook was coordinated by the Local Advisory Council (LAC) on Mental Health in Blaine County.     Reporter's note: Several months ago Blaine County Museum Executive Director Jude Sheppard showed me a copy of a small book created by the members of the Mountain Community Club as part of the club's 50th anniversary celebrated in 1983. The vest-sized book has a picture of each club member in 1983 with a brief commentary written by another club member.     About a year ago, I published an update in local papers about the plans by the Montana Department of Transportation to reconstruct the remaining 10 miles of US 2 between Chinook and Havre. This project, known as Lohman East & West, is still on schedule, with a bid letting date in the fall of 2019, and construction expected to begin in calendar year 2020. It remains the most expensive project in Transportation Commission District 3 in a five year period, and will have to be funded in two separate fiscal years. This project will replace the...

Cody came home with the State Championship in the 300 hurdles and 4th in the State for the 110 hurdles.     The summer swim season officially kicked off this past weekend in Harlem as they hosted the first meet of the Montana Federation of Swimmers summer schedule. A good number of teams were on hand and the Chinook Lions and Harlem swim teams both turned in a fine performance to begin the season.
