Blaine County Library is still following CDC guidelines for preventing the spread of COVID. We are currently under a mask mandate implemented by the Blaine County Commissioners after the Governor lifted the statewide mandate. The library's Pandemic/Epidemic Policy gives the library board the authority to continue requiring masks, handwashing and social distancing until the CDC no longer recommends those measures to prevent the spread of COVID, and the library will be following that policy. On Monday, March 1, the Montana Actors’ Theater (MAT) Youth Program held auditions at the Creative Leisure Building for roles in three, one-act youth productions. One of the young people selected is Hailey Gandenberger, the oldest daughter of Cory and Kasie Gandenberger. Mrs. Gandenberger teaches K-12 Art for the Chinook School District. The physical education classes at Meadowlark Elementary School in Chinook celebrated the completion of a unit on heart health with a Pie in the Face Gathering on February 18. Beginning in February, MAT will be offering monthly workshops for middle and high school aged youth. Each month will focus on a different theatre aspect, and workshops will be led by various MAT staff and volunteers.
