The streets were packed around the Chinook City pool, hosts of the Eastern Divisional Swim Meet this past weekend. Hundreds of RV's and campers made passage near the pool nearly impossible Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The Meadowlark Elementary opened its doors to campers as well and even hosted a dance for the swimmers and their friends Saturday night. Competition was fierce in the pool but the camaraderie was evident among friends and competitors alike....

Ryder Hofeldt, eight years old in this photo, checks out a flower bed he created in his neighbor Myrla McCoy's yard last summer. The case concerning the poaching of ten deer in McCone Co. last fall has been settled in McCone Co. Justice Court. Two high school-aged males were found guilty on multiple wildlife violations for events that took place on Oct. 15, 2017, prior to the opening of general deer season. The Turner Volunteer Fire Department hosted their annual "Fill the Boot" picnic in the Turner Park on July 14th. The Firemen barbecued burgers and had corn on the cob. With summer half over, more than 50,000 watercraft have been inspected at Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks aquatic invasive species inspection stations around the state. “The wet spring delayed a lot of boating activity, but boaters are enjoying the water now that hot and dry weather is here,” said FWP’s AIS Bureau Chief Thomas Woolf. “Get out on the water and have fun but remember to stop at any open watercraft inspection station that you encounter in your travels.” To date, 12 boats with invasive mussels have been intercepted in Montana....

A severe thunderstorm ripped through Turner, Hogeland and surrounding area's last Tuesday. The storm contained high winds, large hail and rain and left a swath of destruction that included completely uprooted trees, property damage and severe crop damage.
