Harlem junior sprinter Damon Adams has had a outstanding performance on the track the past ten days winning both the 200 meter dash and 400 meter dash at the Scottie Qualifier in Glasgow last Monday (April 18). Adams won the 200 meter race in :24.63 and the 400 meter in 54.53. Three days later in Cut Bank Adams turned the trick again while also finishing second in the 100 meter dash (:12.16). The Chinook Sugarbeeter tennis team had another successful outing as they competed in Havre last Tuesday against the Blue Ponies. Chinook went 27-1 on the day. The high school golf season has reached its midway point and the Chinook Sugarbeeters are playing better and better each time out. The boys led by senior Ian McIntosh claimed another team title winning the Whitewater Invitational, which was played on the Malta course. The tennis team finally got there season started last Friday, traveling to Fort Benton to take on Fort Benton and Boulder. On Saturday, the ‘Beeters hosted Chester J-I and Harlem. Track and field teams across Blaine County were back at it again this past week. Girls and boys teams from Chinook, Harlem, Hays Lodgepole and Turner all completed in the annual Cal Wearley track and field meet this last Wednesday in Havre. All told 32 teams and more than 500 competitors took part in the largest track meet of the season as far as competition goes. Teams from the Class 'A', 'B' and 'C' ranks made up the field.
