    The Hays/Lodge Pole Thunderbirds fell in their home opener to the Chester-Joplin-Inverness Hawks Saturday afternoon 30-22. The Thunderbirds have been very competitive early on this season competing in the Northern C for the first time.     The Chinook Sugarbeeter volleyball team turned in another outstanding performance as they won the 34th Annual Chinook Invitational volleyball tournament on their home court. The team defeated the Glasgow Scottie's in straight sets 25-21, 25-24 to take the title.     The Chinook Golf Course and Country Club is set to hold its annual Fireball Tournament this Saturday. The Fireball has become one of those tournaments golfers from all over the hi-line look forward to.
