Blaine County Library

November 10, 2021

The library will be closed Thursday November 11th in observation of Veteran’s Day.

Friday early out movie will be The Secret of Nimh. It is rated G with a run time of one hour and 22 minutes.

During the month of November, we are having a Thanksgiving Book Sale! We will give you a big bag and you can put as many books as you can fit in it for $3.00.

We have a couple of non-fiction books and several novels available this week. “Walk in my Combat Boots” by James Patterson and Matt Eversmann is a collection of stories told by brave men and women who have defended our country. “Fodor’s Bucket List USA” provides easy planning, itineraries, and helpful maps, so you can easily plan your next great adventure. In “The Butler” by Danielle Steel, two different worlds and two very different lives collide in Paris. “Choose Me” is a sexy thriller with a dark twist from bestselling authors Tess Gerritsen and Gary Braver. “The Stranger in the Lifeboat” by Mitch Albom is a fast-paced, compelling novel that makes you ponder your deepest beliefs, and suggests that answers to our prayers may be found where we least expect them. “Game On, Tempting Twenty-eight” by Janet Evonovich is the latest Stephanie Plum novel.

We had a great turnout for our first Code Girls United program, and we are so thankful for those who took the training to be instructors. We have a great group who will be instructing the class. Code Girls will be held Wednesday afternoons from 3:30 to 4:30 during the school year. You can get more information about the program on their website codegirlsunited.org. Girls must preregister to participate in the Code Girls United program. The registration is open to girls in grades 4 through 8 and between the ages of ten and fourteen. Girls must be no older than 14 on August 1, 2022. The program is free for girls and all materials will be supplied. There will be an opportunity to compete in National competitions and be awarded scholarships. Girls can register online now by going to codegirlsunited.org. On the home page under the registration tab, select Chinook and fill out the form. If you are interested in helping or know someone who could help us, please call the library at 357-2932 or send an email to blcolib@itstriangle.com.
