Calling All Artists

February 16, 2022

Last week, Mary-Kate French, put out a call to all artists. That announcement followed the Montana Seed Show Committee’s decision to hold another annual Art Show in conjunction with the Montana Seed Show. Both events will take place at Harlem High School on March 10-12, 2022.

French, who teaches art at Harlem High School, will be serving as the Art Show Superintendent for the Seed Show. In her announcement, she stated: “We cordially invite professional, amateur, and student artists to come and present their work at our event. The Art Show will feature painting, sculpture, and photography.”

For interested artists, the Seed Show provides display boards and hooks. Boards are 4’ x 8’ panels and will be set up and ready for the artists’ arrival. For artists wishing to also sell their work, a $15.00 fee will be charged for each display board used in this way. Artists are also invited to paint, sketch, or otherwise produce work at the Art Show.

According to French, a separate section at the Seed Show will feature the creativity of students and amateurs who do not wish to sell their art or who may only have one entry. There is no charge for this section.

A Best of Show Artist will be chosen during the event for both the Adult and Youth Divisions, with a rosette and $100 cash prize being awarded in each division, as well as individual ribbons for student artists.

There will also be a “small art” silent auction. “We would love to see your work at our show,” French stated.

Anyone wishing to receive additional information or an entry form is encouraged to contact French by phone: (406) 531-7372 or email: mt.seed.show.art@gmail.com
