Swanson to Play Volleyball for MCC

December 14, 2022

Chinook senior, Bree Swanson had a fantastic senior season for the 'Beeter volleyball team. A season that culminated with a fourth place finish at the Class C State Tournament and Northern C All-State Honors. Now Swanson has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her athletic career by playing Volleyball for the Miles Community College Pioneers.

"I'm super stoked to be able to have the opportunity to play at the next level. Playing in college has been in my mind for awhile now and I finally got an opportunity that I couldn't turn down, especially after the visit with a great atmosphere, community, teachers and other students. With them also having what I want to study just made it even better!" Swanson plans on studying Ag Pathways at MCC.

Chinook Head Coach, Paula Molyneaux was happy to hear the news, "I am very excited for Bree, she has been a joy to work with. I really enjoyed the growth of the green freshman with such raw talent to the refined player that she has become. I am sure that there are many great moments ahead of her both on the court and in life. I will miss watching her play and having her as a part of our team."

Her new coach at MCC is Robin Lux Cusimano, who also happens to be a CHS Alum, "With being from Chinook myself, I always have followed and watched Chinook volleyball. And now it has come full circle! I was also coached by Coach Molyneaux over 30 years ago! Bree is a great addition to our team. She is very ambitious on and off the court and will make an immediate impact with her versatility both offensively and defensively. She is a great leader and it shows when you watch her play. I'm so excited to have a Sugarbeeter on the roster.
