Sweet Home is holding a benefit fundraiser for long time employee, Jeannie Madril, this Friday at the Eagles in Chinook. Jeannie has recently experienced some major health issue and the money raised will go to her to help with expenses.

The benefit will get started at 5:30 pm at the Chinook Eagles. Dinner will be served featuring taco soup and cornbread or traveling tacos with all the fixings. The dinner will be a free-will donation. There will also be a 50/50, random drawings and a variety of silent auction items.

Alana Briese, a nurse at Sweet Home is organizing the event, “The initial idea of a benefit for Jeannie came from our director of nursing at Sweet Home, Jamie MacLeod. She had emailed a lot of us at work asking what a good way would be to help Jeannie out. Jamie had mentioned a feed of some sort and I offered to ask the Eagles for information on how to host a benefit.”

The staff at Sweet Home really wanted to do something for their coworker, “Jeannie has dedicated many years of care and hard work to Sweet Home, and we want to support her and her health during this challenging time.”

Briese is getting plenty of help in organizing the benefit. “Amber and Molly (Sweet Home CNA’s) are great go to girls for sure, but the entire Sweet Home family is putting in a helping hand. Whether it’s donating auction items or food or fun ideas for the benefit, I think we all want to do something to help our fellow employee.”

Briese talked a bit about the dinner options, “We’re having taco soup and cornbread or traveling tacos and assorted desserts. I discussed the food options with Jeannie’s daughter, and she agreed that tacos were the way to go, definitely more Jeannie’s taste. Sweet Home is trying to get all the food donated. We already have someone donating all the burger and one department solely wants to assist with food donations.”

The location for the benefit was an easy choice, “Ashley and the Eagles crew are always awesome to work with. They offered to host the benefit free of charge and will be doing the cooking. We haven’t discussed the details on kitchen use, but I know whatever comes about it’ll be worth it to help out Jeannie and the food will be delicious,” said Briese.

The benefit will certainly be a good time for the whole family, “We will be having silent auction items, 50/50 drawing and some random drawings throughout the evening,” added Briese.

Putting on the benefit is a total team effort, “Sweet home departments and individuals have committed to many different baskets. From a coffee basket to a health and wellness basket, car detailing and fresh baked goods. We also have baskets coming in from local businesses, I think there will be something for everyone,” concluded Briese.
