We trust that you all had a nice Memorial Day weekend, with family and friends. It can be a very difficult week, for many. Decorating graves always brings it back to fresh and real. May blessings of peace and comfort be over you, as you continue your path of loss. Many spent time honoring our service men and women who served. It is a time of reflection of their sacrifice to honor those who gave of themselves to the service of this country. We still believe that this is the greatest country in the world and we know that is because of the sacrifice of those who have gone before us. Thank you to all past and present service men and women for their unimaginable gift. Thank you for providing us with the opportunity to celebrate our country in this way.

Brad Taylor will be playing, solo on Tuesday, June 3rd @ 10:00, for your listening pleasure. Please come and enjoy the sounds that Brad takes lots of time to put together. It is always a delight.

We are right now, enjoying the wonderful tunes of Gene Allen & Sheri Neuens. If you missed this one, you should come on June 18th @ 10:00 to enjoy them again. They truly are fun and wonderful. It would be very nice to show them how very appreciated they are!

We are still working towards our goal of achieving a Generac generator, for the future and safety of our Center and our community. This may take several months to achieve. We will be having several fundraisers to further our goal. Our next fundraiser will be held on Friday, June 20th, which will pair a Senior Golfer with a non-golfing caddie. We will then auction these teams off and take them out to play 9 holes here, at our own wonderful Chinook Golf Course. We are calling this our Senior Swing. We are seeking seniors who golf and non-golfers, as well, to form these teams. Please, if you are willing and able, call me @ 357-2648 so that we can get this little tournament all filled in.

If you are considering a donation of any kind to our Senior Center and would like those dollars designated to the Generator fund, please let us know. Our thoughts are that this is in memory of Mary Pyette, who is certainly missed here. After all of her years of nursing and taking care of her community, this is another way to respect her memory, by continuing to “take care of our small, but wonderful community.”

As we enter the summer season there are lots of projects to ponder. We are in the process of adding a “Crafting Day” to our schedule of fun events. We will announce when this will begin.

Rose Stuker will be letting me know which dates she will be available for our “technical classes” and they will be posted, as well.

We have CORHOLE, CRIBBAGE, PINOCHLE, POOL, BINGO, MUSIC, LIMBER UP, FOOT CLINICS every first Monday of the month, COFFEE, COOKIES, A REALLY GREAT BUNCH OF PEOPLE WHO MAKE UP A WONDERFUL TEAM to help us out. We have a BEEN RICHLY BLESSED. CALL UP AND get signed up for our wonderful meals.

NEW ANNOUNCEMENT: ALL MEALS FOR UNDER THE AGE OF 60, WILL BE CHARGED $10 GOING FORWARD. Our Senior rate will continue as $7.00. The reason for this change is that we are not funded for anyone under the age of 60 who like to join us. We still love these people and welcome them at any time, as long as they call before 10:00 to join us. 357-2648.
