We've Got The County Covered

Harlem Library

We hope you had the best time at our Love Chocolate...Love Your Library event! Thank you to everyone who donated time and effort.

Coming up next week, from 12:00-6:00 pm, on Wednesday, February 18th, we have another celebration! We'll be hosting an Open House; we are fortunate to have received two separate grants that compliment each other so well. The first is the Pilcrow Foundation's Children's Book Project Grant, whose "mission is to provide new, quality, hardcover children's books to rural public libraries across the United States." We received more that 100 books from a list provided to us from The Pilcrow Foundation! They are gorgeous, unique books that we can't wait to share with the community. Here's their website for more information: thepilcrowfoundation.org.

The second grant we received was from the John Henry Eldrid, Jr. Foundation, which "invests in initiatives to strengthen families and the communities in which they live, work and play." With this grant, we applied for $5,500 dollars to purchase new front-faced shelving for the children's area! Our new shelf is beautiful, and it's especially helpful for younger kids who aren't quite reading yet to choose their books based on what looks interesting to them, since they won't be reading spines. Here is their website for more information about the John Henry Eldrid, Jr. Foundation: https://www.jhefoundation.org/

We are grateful to both foundations and the work they do for libraries.
