We've Got The County Covered

Chinook Senior Center

Hello From the

Chinook Senior Center

Firstly, let me say that we lost a lady who worked tirelessly at our Center for many, many years, with the passing of Myrla McCoy. Myrla continued until this past year taking care of all of the flowers outside around our Center for over 20 years. She also did the laundry for our Center for countless years. We will certainly miss her. We will host her Memorial here on Wed., February 18th @ 2:00. Burial will be at a later date. We hope to see you here, sharing some stories about this lady who has gone home to be with the Lord. It seems that when we live in a small community, we come to know so very many people and it is hard to watch them decline over the years and harder to see them go.

Saturday, February 21st from 9:00 -11:00 will be our SLAPJACK SATURDAY, prepared by Teddy Powell and Doug Mitchell, as a fundraiser for our Center. All Free Will Donations will be accepted and appreciated.

We will be hosting a BABY SHOWER for Howard Juneau (our Cook) and his wife, Heather, on Saturday, March 7th @ 2:00 p.m. Please mark your calendars and come and share in the joy of their expectations of parenthood.

Our regularly scheduled board meeting has been moved from Feb., 18th to Feb. 19th at 3:15 p.m.

We ask that you call before 10:00 a.m. to join us for lunch or for a pick up. This allows for us to prepare accordingly. If you are receiving our home delivered meals, we expect for you to be at home to receive these between the hours of 11:00 & 12:00, or we will no longer be able to deliver to you, as the meal is wasted along with the time of our volunteers. This is very important, as we desire to deliver good quality food. We simply cannot ask our volunteers who deliver our meals to keep returning to your residence to try and find you. It is a simple request. If you are unable to be at home for any reason, you must call our Center prior to 10:00 a.m. to let us know that you will be away.

We are not a specialty kitchen, so we are not able to make many different accommodations to suit each individual’s desires, so if you are unable to eat a particular meal, please call and let us know not to deliver on the day that you are not able to eat.

Remember that if you are in need of meal assistance, please call us and we can fill out some brief paperwork to help with your needs.

Bingo is played each Thursday from 1:00-3:00. The cost to play is a quarter per card. All money is paid back out to the winners. Come and join in the fun!
