  • Signs of spring around the U.S.

    Steve Edwards|Apr 15, 2020

Reporter's note: Sitting up here in Whitlash under Montana's 'stay at home directive.' My thoughts have turned to 'signs of spring.' My wife and I lived in eight states and 23 different places within those states during our 50+ years of marriage. I got to thinking about the different signs of spring we experienced at those 23 places. A writer for an eastern North Dakota newspaper wrote, "We're each afforded our own perspective on the beginning of spring." Another way to say it might be, "Signs...

  • Blaine County Beacon: A Pre-med Path Takes a Turn

    Donna Miller|Apr 1, 2020

Helping others has always been one of Rob Klingaman's life-long motivations. That affinity, coupled with his desire to be one of those that the public looks to in a time of need, may explain why he initially pursued and was accepted to attend the Naval Academy in June 2013. However, after learning that two shoulder injuries would limit his service selection to only the supply corps, he separated from the military in January 2015 and enrolled at Montana State University (MSU) in Bozeman to...

I was really hoping that we would only get a light snow and not be too cold. I have decided that a weatherman, I am not. Thank you to all who sent cards called or messaged me last week after my heart attack on Monday. Your support is much appreciated and thank you to those who took over my duties while I was in the hospital. St. Patrick’s Day is coming up, a day of green beer and getting pinched if you are not wearing green. Why do we wear green on St. Patrick’s Day? The thought was that wearing green made one invisible to leprechauns and fairy folk who would pinch anyone they could see, which was anyone not wearing green. People began pinching those who didn’t w...
