Fifty-one spellers from across the county qualified for the Blaine County Spelling Bee on February 5. Once the pledges are counted and winners determined, school officials will hold a Slime Assembly to celebrate on Monday, February 17 at 2:30 p.m. The heart health program was introduced on February 3 and will end on February 14. The Turner School was honored to host a Mental Health First Aid class at their school for anyone who wished to train. They saw teachers, Ambulance crew, nurses, Psychologists, and administrators wishing to attend the class. Jump youth group prepared and served a delicious Taco Soup lunch for the community on Super Bowl Sunday. They accepted free will donations at the event, which will all go to the Chinook Food Pantry. Saturday night at 9:49, Fire Chief Kraig Hansen received a page that a house was on fire in the 900 block of Ohio Street. When fire crews arrived, they went to work to extinguish the blaze. The Chinook Rod and Gun Club held their first ever Ice Fishing Derby on Saturday, February 1 at the Dry Fork Reservoir from 9 am to 3 pm. There were a total of 14 participants.
