This past Wednesday, November 30 nearly 80 people braved the elements to attend the 30th Anniversary Commemoration of the C-141 Collision Crash that claimed the lives of 13 United States Airmen north of Harlem. The Chinook Community Red Cross Blood Drive was held on Tuesday November 15th at the Chinook Community Commercial building down at the Blaine County fairgrounds. It was another great success. We had 56 presenting donors with 53 units collected on a goal of 45. We registered 1 first time donor, Julia Briere, and Perry Alcorn reached 12 gallons. Five Native American or First Nations artists have been selected for the prestigious 2023 Eiteljorg Contemporary Art Fellowship. Trailblazing mixed media, sculpture, beadwork and photography by the artists will be on exhibit at the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art beginning in November 2023. The Bear Paw Giant Downhill and Zombie Stroll on Saturday, Oct. 29, delivered on its promise as several finishers admitted recording personal best times. A total of nine runners and 17 zombie strollers enjoyed sunny 55-degree weather with a slight tail wind. The Big Flat came through in a big way, again! The Big Flat Catholic Youth sponsored a food drive to help stock the Harlem Ministerial Catholic Food Bank shelves. The drive was done a bit differently this year as they asked for food at the local Big Flat Grocery Store as well as other churches on the Big Flat.
