    The Chinook Sugarbeeter, Harlem Wildcat and Hays/Lodge Pole Thunderbird Cross Country teams were in Havre this past Saturday. All three area schools had plenty of athletes run. Chinook led the way with 14 runners, nine boys and five girls. The Wildcats had 12 runners with 11 boys including seven freshmen and one girl in the field.     The Harlem Wildcat football team was back in action this Friday taking on the North Stars in Rocky Boy. The Wildcats had their way start to finish handing Rocky Boy a resounding 82-22 thumping to pick up their first win of the season and improving their record to 1-2 on the season.     Following the football game on August 25, which the Chinook Beeters lost, 8-18, Julian Powell wore a chain with a railroad spike pendant to school. The interesting accessory wasn't a fashion statement but evidence of his having won the Hardest Hit Award for his defensive role in the game against the Culbertson Cowboys.     The Sugarbeeter volleyball team suffered just one loss enroute to first place in its own tournament Saturday in Chinook. Chinook opened the tournament on Court 1 with a win over Glasgow. In its second game an hour later, the Beeters fell behind the Outlaws of Roy-Winifred 1-12 before staging a strong comeback to lose by just seven points, 18-25.     All six harriers figured in Harlem Wildcat’s high finish at the 36-team meet Friday just outside of Kalispell. The meet featured numerous Class AA and A schools from around the state, a few of which were among the 14 schools unable to keep up with ‘Cats.     The Harlem Wildcats' wild 64-36 loss to the Poplar Indians in Harlem Friday evening was a classic tale of two halves.     The Chinook Sugarbeeters are bringing back their Football Camp for the first time since 2019. The Day Camp will be held August 1-3, 8:30-11:00 am daily.
