We had 76 people attend our 24th Annual Hassle Free Christmas Program. Kasie McIntosh, Ann Fox and Shannon Nissen were the winners of the door prizes. A big shout out to our presenters Barb Jergeson, Kendra Seilstad and Sherry Edwards, without whom we would have no program! We send a big thank you to Shore’s Floral for our food table centerpiece. It was a treat to have the Ecumenical Echoes Bell Choir perform for us again this year. We hope everyone who made it out to join us had a good time and we look forward to celebrating our 25th Hassle Free Program in 2016.

We have one non-fiction book ready for checkout this week. “Swiped” by Adam Levin details how to protect yourself in a world full of scammers, phishers, and identity thieves.

“All the Stars in the Heavens” by Adriana Trigiani is a spellbinding tale based on a true story that’s filled with family ties, artistry, romance and adventure.

“All Dressed in White” by Mary Higgins Clark and Alafair Burke is the second book in their series. In this installment, intrepid television producer Laurie Moran is investigating the chilling case of a missing bride.

“Cross Justice” by James Patterson is the latest Alex Cross thriller.

“Tricky Twenty-Two” is a new Stephanie Plum novel by Janet Evanovich. This title is also available on CD.

On Wednesday, December 9 from 1 to 4 p.m., Sweet Medical Clinic will be helping the community with open enrollment assistance. If you are unsure what your needs are or what you need to do to acquire health insurance, be sure to stop in the library meeting room that day.

Story Time is Tuesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. All kids are welcome to join whatever fun things Kelsey has planned. LEGO Club is Tuesday afternoons from 3:30 to 4:30 and is open to grades K though 6.

The library will be hosting several computer classes which will be presented by Triangle Communications. The second class will be Tuesday, December 8 at 6 p.m. Students will learn about Facebook and other social media. There will be a break until after the holidays. Tuesday January 5 at 6 p.m. will be a Bring Your Own Gadget class. This would be a great opportunity to bring in a device you received for Christmas or maybe one you’ve had for a while and haven’t quite mastered yet. Please call the library at 357-2932 to register for any of the classes or if you would like more information. We also have signup sheets available at the Senior Center.

There is always something going on at the library. Check us out on Facebook or look us up on our website at http:www.blainecountylibrary.org for up to date information about what’s going on!
