Christmas tree permits available, free to fourth-graders

Permits are available for $5 to anyone who wishes to harvest a Christmas tree on public lands under stewardship of the Bureau of Land Management. Under the “Every Kid in a Park Initiative” fourth-graders who present a valid Fourth Grade Pass will receive a free permit.
Permits are available during normal business hours at the BLM Field Offices in Glasgow, Havre, Lewistown and Malta. The Havre office, located at 3990 Highway 2 West, is open 7:45am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Call 406-262-2820 for information about the cutting permits.
