Blaine County Library

October 19, 2016

Kelsey has put together a display of books for October. “Books That Go Bump in the Night” will give you plenty of thrills and chills to choose from.

The movie today will be “The Finest Hours”, which runs for one hour and 57 minutes. This movie is based on the true story of the greatest small-boat rescue in Coast Guard History. Everyone is welcome to attend and refreshments will be served. “The Journey Home” will be the movie next Wednesday. If anyone has a request for a movie to be shown, please let us know. We are now taking requests for movies in December. If anyone has a request, let us know or tell Kristi at the Senior Center.

Library staff will be doing a MontanaLibrary2Go Tutorial class on Monday October 24th at 6:00 p.m. Not familiar with MontanaLibrary2Go? MontanaLibrary2Go offers a collection of over 25,000 contemporary, classic, and bestseller downloadable and streaming audiobooks and e-books (books in electronic, or digital, format) to patrons of participating Montana public, tribal, and academic libraries. Patrons are allowed to check out up to five titles at once, and can download those titles to nearly any mobile device, e-reader, or personal computer; or, they can opt to stream audiobooks or read e-books through their preferred browsers. As subscribing members of MontanaLibrary2Go, patrons of Blaine County Library have access to this free of charge! Find out what it’s all about and see what you’ve been missing. You must have a valid Blaine County Library card to access MontanaLibrary2Go. If you are interested in attending this class and don’t already have a library card, stop in and get one before the class. Class size is limited. Please call or stop into the library or the Senior Center to register for the class.

We have one non-fiction book available this week. “Making Habits, Breaking Habits” by Jeremy Dean will give you the answers to why we do things, why we don’t and how to make any change stick. “Winter Storms” by Elin Hilderbrand is the heartwarming conclusion to the Winter Street Trilogy. “The Obsidian Chamber” by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child is an Agent Pendergast novel. “Escape Clause” by John Sandford is a Virgil Flowers novel. “A Boy Made of Blocks” by Keith Stuart reminds us that sometimes our world has to crumble before we can build it back up again. Inspired by Keith Stuart’s own relationship with his autistic son, A Boy Made of Blocks is a tear-jerking, funny, and, most of all, true-to-life novel about the power of difference and one very special little boy.

Story Time is Tuesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. Kids of all ages and abilities are welcome to attend. LEGO Club is Thursday afternoons from 3:30-4:30 p.m. and is open to kids in grades K-6.

Mark your calendars for Thursday December 1st. That is the date for the 25th Annual Hassle Free Christmas Program and as always we will have presentations and wonderful food.

There is always something going on at the library. Check us out on Facebook or look us up on our website at http:www.blainecountylibrary.org for up to date information about what’s going on!
