What 'cher point?

We have some Prep standings both in Volleyball and in Football for last week. Let’s do Volleyball first.

In Central A Havre is fourth.

In District 2B Harlem is fourth.

I don’t see standings for Chinook or the Thunderbirds.

In the Frontier League Rocky is third and Northern is seventh.

In the Big Sky Montana is fifth and Montana State is twelve.

Here is how it looked last week in Prep Football. In Central A Havre is second. Belgrade is first.

In 2B Harlem is fourth.

In Northern C Belt is first followed by Great Falls Central. Chinook is eighth and The Thunderbirds are ninth.

In the mighty NFL the top of the heap are New England, Houston, Pittsburgh, Oakland, Denver, Dallas Atlanta and Minnesota.

Too early to tell about the Patriots yet but Denver looks a little worse for the wear as they have lost their last two games. Look for Buffalo to maybe do something and the Vikings to for sure do something. Dallas might have something going as might Pittsburgh. I think that the Vikings are going to have their year this year. We will see about the rest.

In NFL news the 49ers named Colin Kaepernick as their starting quarterback. I don’t know how that is going to go but after this weekend, we all will know more.

Marty Mornhinweg has been hired as the new offensive coordinator for the Ravens. Coach Jim Harbaugh fired Marc Trestman and it looks like the former UM star Mornhinweg is going to be a good fit in Baltimore!

How about some predictions for this next week.

Can Northern beat Carroll on October 29? Let’s give that one a maybe. They did it once this year.

Rocky plays Montana Tech and loses.

Montana State has a bye for this next weekend. Montana plays Eastern Oregon. Let’s give the win to Montana.

Havre plays Polson and wins. Harlem loses to Conrad, Chinook and the Thunderbirds play. Give that win to the Thunderbirds! But it could be an upset as well.

In week seven of the mighty NFL, on Thursday night it is the Rams over the Giants.

On Sunday it is Cleveland losing to Cincinnati, Washington losing to Detroit and Oakland beating Jacksonville.

It is Kansas City over New Orleans, Buffalo over Miami and Baltimore over the Jets.

How about Minnesota beating Philadelphia, Indianapolis beating Tennessee and Atlanta beating San Diego.

Tampa beats San Francisco, New England beats Pittsburgh although look for an upset here and on Sunday night it is Seattle over Arizona.

On Monday night it is Houston beating Denver.

That is my story and I am sticking with it. Go Thunderbirds!
