American Lutheran hosts first Chinook Area Chamber Business After Hours of 2017

Sarah and Danny Pratt were busy making Lefse before the start of last week's Business After Hours hosted by the American Lutheran Church in Chinook. Sarah is the 2017 President of the Chinook Chamber, which sponsors the Business After Hours events, and Danny is the Council President at American Lutheran. Guests learned about ministries of the local congregation, enjoyed a number of delicious finger foods and had time for visiting.
Last week the American Lutheran Church hosted the Chinook Chamber's first Business After Hours of 2017. It was the second time for the local congregation to host the event and the 'rerun' did not disappoint with an opportunity to hear about ministries the church is doing. Add to that fresh lefse, off the griddles as guests arrived, and an assortment of finger foods. It was a great evening with lots of visiting and catching up with neighbors and friends.
Jen Hellman, Chamber Secretary, welcomed everyone. Jen coordinates the schedule for the Business After Hours program that first began in April, 2014. Danny Pratt, current Church Council President for the congregation, also welcomed guests and shared some information about programs of the church.
Sunday worship is 9:30 a.m. During each Wednesday of Lent, (March 1-April 13), the church is hosting Lenten Soup supper at 5:30 p.m., followed by a Holden Prayer service and a book study.
Pratt also talked about how the church is working for ways to utilize its facilities in service to the community, citing the Funshine Pre-School which uses some of the educational space in the church.
The next scheduled Business After Hours is for the month of June and will be hosted by Sweet Medical Center.
Business After Hours provides a business or organization an opportunity to network with locals and showcase their products or businesses in an informal setting.
