We have several thrillers available this week. In "Dark Site" by Patrick Lee Sam Dryden comes under attack from unknown forces as an unremembered episode from his past threatens more than just his life. "Their Little Secret" by Mark Billingham is a masterful thriller with twists and turns that will keep readers guessing until the final page. In "The Never Game" by Jeffery Deaver, a young woman has gone missing in Silicon Valley and her father has hired Colter Shaw to find her. The son of a survivalist family, Shaw is an expert tracker. Now he makes a living as a "reward seeker," traveling the country to help police solve crimes and private citizens locate missing persons. But what seems a simple investigation quickly thrusts him into the dark heart of America's tech hub and the cutthroat billion-dollar video-gaming industry.

In "Queen Bee" Dorthea Benton Frank returns at long last to her beloved Sullivan's Island in an evocative Carolina Lowcountry tale. "City of Girls" by Elizabeth Gilbert is a novel of glamour, sex, and adventure, about a young woman discovering that you don't have to be a good girl to be a good person.

Summer Reading Programs officially started last week. We have fun programs and events for children of all ages. Children who participate in the summer reading program keep their minds active and enter school in the fall ready to learn and ready to succeed. The theme for this year's Summer Reading Program is A Universe of Stories. For every two hours read, kids will be able to enter their name into our Summer Reading prize drawings. There will also be small prizes awarded for every two hour entry. Pre-readers are encouraged to participate by having someone read to them. The top reader will win an after-hours pizza party. We will have computers available for taking Accelerated Reader tests.

Activities for the summer will be Movie Mondays at 1:30 p.m. This will be a family friendly movie and everyone is welcome to attend. Storytime for children ages 5 and under will be Tuesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. The Summer Reading Program will be Tuesday afternoons at 1:30 for all ages. Wednesdays will be Middle School Hangout for kids entering grades 6 through 8 at 1:30 p.m. Thursdays will be LEGO Club/STEM Club at 1:30 p.m. for grades K through 6. Older kids interested in LEGO Club and STEM Club are welcome to attend as are Pre-K children if accompanied by an adult. We are starting a new program this summer called Books and Babies which will be Friday mornings at 10:30 a.m. This program is designed for building language, motor, and social skills for babies and their mommies.
