The Blaine County Journal News-Opinion - We've Got The County Covered

Chinook Senior Center

July 17, 2019

The annual Senior Citizen’s Center board meeting was on Friday the 12th. There were 2 board seats to be voted on. Tom Tilleman was re-elected and remains the Chairman. Lorraine Mulonet was elected replacing Ardis Conrad who was not running. We are grateful for Ardis’s commitment to the Senior Center and appreciate all she has done over the years.

Thank you goes out for the donation of yarn that we received. It is in the office. See Marlane for more information. We also received salad fixings, hamburger buns, catsup, mustard, and french fries. Thank you for thinking of us.

We have received memorials for Don Harshman and wish to thank you for this. Don’s family is hosting a time for everyone to remember Don on July 20th here at the Center from 1-4.

Virginia Olson was the black out winner at Bingo on the 11th. The Public Card Party on Sunday was well attended with 12 people playing. Virginia Olson was high with Mike Randall scoring low.

Our activities start at 1 p.m. and include Pinochle on Monday, Shanghai Rummy on Tuesday, Scrabble/board games, or other cards, Wednesday afternoons, Bingo on Thursday, and cards on Friday. Whist is being played every second and fourth Wednesday. The Kitchen Band plays on Fridays. We have exercise equipment available to use for those 18 years and older. If you want to set up a pool game, the poor old pool table could use some attention. Also there is always a jigsaw puzzle being pieced and all help is welcome. Anyone is welcome to join us.
