Blaine County Library

July 24, 2019

The Blaine County Library Board of Trustees will hold their regular monthly meeting Monday July 29th at 4:00 p.m. in the library meeting room.

Next week will be the final week of activities for our Summer Reading Program. Kids who are reading and turning in time logs will have until August 9th to finish. We will draw for prizes on the 9th. The reader with the most hours will win an after-hours pizza party. Accelerated Reader tests for Chinook schools and Zurich can be taken until school starts. The final movie will be Robots which runs for 89 minutes.

As most people know June 20th was the 50th Anniversary of the moon landing and we have two books about that event available this week. "One Giant Leap: The Impossible Mission to the Moon" by Charles Fishman and "Destination Moon: The Remarkable and Improbable Voyage of Apollo 11" by Richard Maurer will answer any questions readers may have.

New fiction this week includes: "My Life as a Rat" by Joyce Carol Oates, "The Friends We Keep" by Jane Green, "Good Omens" by Neil Gaiman and "The Kremlin Strike" by Dale Brown.

Are you planning a trip and thinking about ways to make the miles more tolerable? We have downloadable audio and eBooks available to our patrons with MontanaLibrary2Go. There are many books appropriate for the whole family. You need to download the Libby app to the device you will be using, this can be a phone, Kindle or laptop. You will need your library card number and an Internet connection to download the books. Once a book is downloaded, you don't need an Internet connection to listen or read. Patrons have the title for 2 weeks and then it is automatically returned. Each library card can have 5 titles checked out at a time. More information and instructions are available on our website. If you need your library card number, just give us a call or come in to the library. If you have problems, staff is available to walk you through the process.

There is always something going on at the library. Check us out on Facebook or look us up on our website at http:www.blainecountylibrary.org for up to date information about what's going on!
