Junior Toby Niederegger races towards the end zone, taking the opening kick of 75 yards for a score and an early 6-0 'Beeter lead.

The Chinook rolled into Chester this past Friday confident and ready to add another win to their season total. They did just that with a 64-20 thumping of the Hawks to improve to 3-1 on the season.

The win sets up a huge Homecoming contest with the 3-1 Simms Tigers. This game has huge playoff implications heading into the homestretch of the regular season.

The Sugarbeeters started fast, taking the opening kick off 75 yards. Junior Toby Niederegger caught the ball at the five yard line and immediately started up field racing down the left sideline in front of the 'Beeter bench to put Chinook on top early 6-0 just :11 into the contest.

After thwarting the Hawks on the ensuing possession, the 'Beeters methodically marched down the field again, finishing the drive with a short touchdown run from junior Hunter Molyneaux to go up 13-0 early in the opening quarter.

The Sugarbeeters kept their foot on the gas adding scores through the air and on the ground in a dominate 64-20 shellacking of the Hawks.

The 'Beeters got a solid effort from players all over the field and once again their defense was stellar.

14 players in all found the stat book defensively for the 'Beeters. Sophomore Tyler Schoen led the way with 10 total tackles. Junior Drake Berreth wrapped up eight Hawk ball carries on the night for the 'Beeters.

The 'Beeter defense forced four turnovers in the contest. Senior Damon Hannum had one interception as did sophomores Levi Jensen and Lane Hasler. Senior Ethan Bell recovered a fumble for the 'Beeter defense and forced one as well. Senior Reese Elliot forced a fumble on the defensive side of the ball.

MacLeod finished the contest with six total tackles, one for loss and a sack. Junior Wyatt Dunbar also corralled the Hawk quarterback for another sack

The offense has shown a very strong ability to move the ball this season and that was no different Saturday.

Senior Quarterback Benton Elliot was again efficient through the air, completing 8/15 passes for 104 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Schoen was highly effective running the ball, gaining 119 yards on just 11 carries while also scoring two touchdowns. Junior Hunter Molyneaux added 13 carries for 97 yards and a score. Sophomore Flint Annis had eight carries for 51 yards and a score and Elliot tallied four rushes for 18 yards and another touchdown.

Senior Reese Elliot hauled in three balls for 56 yards and two touchdowns in the win. Berreth added three receptions for 16 yards as well.

The win sets up a huge homecoming contest this Friday at Hoon Field with the 3-1 Simms Tigers coming to town. The winner of that contest will be the No. 2 seed out of the 'B' Subdivision.

Head Coach Mike Jones shared some thoughts after the win against Chester/J-I, "C/J-I was a physical game and the boys were ready for the game. I thought we played a great physical game. We won the turnover battle and executed very well on offense."

Senior Ethan MacLeod pulls the Hawk runningback away from the goal line in the Sugarbeeters lopsided 64-20 win over the Hawks in Chester. The win sets up a huge homecoming showdown this Friday night in Chinook with the Simms Tigers.

Jones was happy with the way they played on both sides of the ball, "We are getting a lot of kids touches on the offensive side of the ball. On defense we have some kids playing different positions and they are doing well. We tackled really well this week."

The 'Beeters are gearing up for Simms and the importance of the contest is being addressed by Jones, "This week we have a tough game coming up. Simms was more physical than us last year and were able to beat us down there. I think the boys are ready for redemption. It's homecoming week, so it's going to be a fun game at Hoon field for these boys."

Jones has scouted Simms and has an idea of what to expect, "Simms is fast and runs the ball well. They also have a very quick defensive line. We are going to focus on reading defensive keys and playing one gap football as well as working on staying engaged on blocks, running the ball well, and limiting penalties and turnovers on the offensive side."
