Margaret Strike

Margaret Strike, 76, passed away the evening of February 16, 2023 at 11pm at Benefis East in Great Falls, MT. Due to ongoing complications with her diabetes. She was born on February 28, 1946, the eldest daughter to Mary Louise Talks Different and Joseph John Wing at Fort Belknap Hospital.

She attended grade school in Lodgepole and Mission in Hays. Later on, she went to boarding school attending Flandreau Indian School in South Dakota. Margaret was raised the traditional way of being generous, she was very detailed in all she did. Margaret lived with Lily and Quentin Fox Sr. for a few years in Hays, she was a big sister to many of her cousins.

Margaret met John R in the 70's and raised three beautiful children together Michelle, Rochelle, and Joe. They lived at 3 mile for many years. Margaret and John adopted Harlan and Mary Mount as their son and daughter. She was very well educated, she earned a degree in Human Services and worked in Social Services. She later went on to Ft. Belknap College and earned a degree in Early Childhood Development and was a Head Start Teacher for 30 years. Over 600 plus children graduated from her classroom and many of them are well educated and successful.

She enjoyed PowWows, teaching, sewing, cooking, and loved all her children and grandchildren. She took good care of her children and grandchildren and raised great children. Margaret was well known on the PowWow trail by many, her children and grandchildren all danced. She had rich giveaways and delicious food. She once gifted her sister-cousin Charlene Doney Forman a complete ladies traditional dancing regalia to welcome her back into the dancing circle. A beautiful sisterly act that brought tears and happiness to Charlene and many others.

Margaret has left a big impact on the lives of many and she will be missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents Mary Louise Talks Different and Joseph Wing, Brothers Clarence, Alvin (Cubby), William (Bubby), Joey Wing, Sisters Avis Wing and Roberla, Daughter Michelle, Son Joe, and Grand Daughter Janika Doney.

She is survived by Husband John R of 51 years, daughter Rochelle "Rocky" her son Chris, brother Ivan Wing, sisters Carmen Jackson, Savanna Wing, Mary Ellen Snell, Virginia Snell, Donna Snell, Leta Jo Snell, and Sivinna, grandchildren and great grandchildren, Talks Different, Fox, Snell, Doney, and Wing Families.
