New titles at the library include thrillers “Beware the Woman” by Megan Abbott, “The Last Sinner” by Lisa Jackson, and “The Bone Hacker” by Kathy Reichs.

Recently arrived inspirational novels are “Finding Us,” the second installment in the Pictures of the Heart series by Tracie Peterson and books one and two of the Wyoming Sunrise series by Mary Connealy.

Elin Hilderbrand is the author of “The Five-Star Weekend” and the historical fiction novel “Canary Girls” is by Jennifer Chiaverini.

The Book Challenge for September is to read a book with a number in the title. You may win a gift certificate from a local business.

During the month of September you may “Buy a Bag O’Books!” Fill a grocery sack with used books for only one dollar.

The library will be closed September 18-19 for staff to attend training.

The Book Club, a book discussion group for adults, will hold its first meeting of the fall on September 25, 4:00 P.M. in the library meeting room.

The book we will be reading is “The Measure” by Nikki Erlick. You may pick up your copy at the library September 11-22. This book club kit was provided thanks to a Big Sky Reads grant from Humanities Montana.

Also on September 25 Montana Library Network and the Harlem Public Library will present the program “Bison Archaeology in Glacier National Park” with Kyle Langley. This program will explore what is known and not known about the bison who once roamed in Glacier and the people who for centuries lived with and relied on these bison. This presentation will be shown virtually from 6:00 – 7:30 P.M. and is free and open to all. Please register at tinyurl.com/GNPbisonMT. You may take part on your own device or join the Watch Party at the library.

Children and families are invited to participate in the weekly children’s programming at the library. Storytime for children ages 0-5 and their parents/caregivers meets on Tuesdays at 10 A.M. Elementary students are invited to After School Squad , STEAM based programs on Wednesdays at 4 P.M. Lego Club for all ages is held on Thursdays at 4 P.M. Due to the four-day school week the library is now hosting Film Fridays for all ages. Movies will be shown at 10 A.M. Children under five must be accompanied by an adult to attend Lego Club and Film Fridays.

The library board of trustees will hold their monthly meeting September 27, 4:30 P.M. in the library meeting room.

The Harlem Library is in affiliate of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library which provides free books monthly for children ages 0 -5. Please contact the library for more information about registering your child.
