Hello From the Chinook Social Senior Center!!

As we enter this season of absolute wonder, we must take the time to reflect on the year behind us and pause at the unimaginable gift of our Savior, Jesus Christ. I can’t imagine life without knowing Him. It is unfathomable for us to think of giving a gift such as Him, to save us all, to save the world. Let us all remember exactly what Christmas means. Let us all COME & ADORE HIM. Let’s take the time, with the busy bustle of getting all that we do, ready for this amazing day to read about Him, at the very least, in the book of Luke 2:11 For there is born to you, this day, in the city of David, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. Merry Christmas to all & may good health & blessings follow you into the New Year.

Today, we celebrated with Edith Bilger. It was a milestone, indeed. Today is her 100th birthday! Virginia Olson came to celebrate & chat with her. What a joy to see the two of the talking. I thought to myself….imagine the knowledge that the two of them possess. Imagine the history that they can share. I find it very enjoyable to listen to what they have to share. I hope that you take the time to be in their presence. They are a treat. God has richly blessed them with so very many years.

We will be entering a New Year soon & will be embarking on another year of the gift of life. Let’s all make a difference to others. Let’s take time to reach out. Let’s keep those close in heart that are experiencing recent losses. This is a particularly difficult time for people such as these.

Let’s get together more often. Let’s sit and share a meal, a really GOOD meal, here at this wonderful Center. Let’s have friendship & fellowship. Let’s bring smiles to others. Let’s play cards. Let’s laugh. Let’s catch up with old friends & make new ones.

We have hot coffee, cold ice tea, friendship & fellowship. Get in here! Make a resolution! Spend more time with us. We have fun in here! We have cornhole, billiards, pinochle, cribbage, bingo, painting classes and fun!

We also have openings for anyone who wishes to donate a couple of hours of their lives to enriching others. It is very rewarding. It is called volunteering. We are in need of more, so please consider this and come and talk with me.
