Young Professionals Program Hopes to Attract Interns

April 24, 2024

It’s that time of year when Montana Actors’ Theatre (MAT) in Havre, Montana, reaches out to college students and recent college graduates about paid internship opportunities through their Young Professionals Program.

According to Angela Pratt, who serves as Youth Activities Director with MAT, interns oversee MAT’s youth programs, including their touring KidsMAT Summer Children’s Theatre camps and an end of summer one-act playfest.

“MAT provides housing, a generous stipend, and a great experience! Interns get practical experience in the performing arts and working with youth. Young people from elementary to high school take part over the summer, providing interns a wonderful opportunity to work in youth theatre,” Pratt explains.

Pratt went on to report that priority is given to students attending a Montana college or university or to previous Montana high school students. Applicants must be available from mid-June to mid-August. Additional information about the positions as well as applications are available online at mtactors.com/ypp.

If information beyond that provided is required, interested applicants are encouraged to contact Pratt by phone: 406-390-2729 or by email: Angela@mtactors.com. Another contact is Tylyn Turner, whose phone number is 406-265-9265 and whose email address is Tylyn@mtcators.com.

Through the Young Professionals Program, interns not only gain valuable practical experience but professional development and artistic opportunity.
