Darla Christine Plouffe

Darla Christine Plouffe, 86, passed away peacefully at her residence in Great Falls with loved ones by her side. Darla was born July 1st, 1938, in Havre, to John and Myrtle Norberg of Chinook. Darla graduated Chinook High School in 1957. She worked as a telephone operator in Havre, up to her marriage in 1962 to Ray Belcher. They had four children, Kelly, Cory, Forrest and Kary. They lived south of Cleveland until they divorced. Darla moved to Chinook with her children and worked three jobs to support her family.

Later she met and married the love of her life, Douglas Lee Plouffe, January 10th, 1977. With that marriage she gained three bonus children, Darrell, Gwen and Ronda. Doug and Darla lived on a farm west of Chinook. Darla worked at the local grocery store in Chinook and helped grow and sell corn and potatoes out of the field on the farm. Darla grew a big garden to help feed the family. Doug and Darla sold the farm in 2021 and moved to Great Falls where she lived until her passing on May 31st. Darla was a go getter and did not know how to stay still. The last year of her life, due to health complications, she learned how to slow down some, but not much.

Darla is survived by her children, Kelly (Dee) Belcher, Forrest (Tammy) Belcher, Kary (Danny) Belcher, bonus children, Darrell Plouffe, Gwen (Mark) Carter. Darla was blessed with wonderful grandchildren, Garrett (Britney) Carter, Dustin (Lauren) Belcher, Dakota (Chelsea) Belcher, Samantha (Dayne) Kapu, Destinee (Josh) Belcher, Dylan (Shandra) McDowell, and Jesse McDowell. Darla was blessed with 8 great grandchildren and two more on the way and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Darla was preceded in death by husband, Douglas Lee Plouffe, July 10th, 2024, step daughter, Ronda Plouffe, August 31st, 2024, son, Cory Belcher, September 27th, 2024.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, John and Myrtle Norberg, brothers, Johnny Jr. and Frankie Norberg, sisters Darlene Warrington and Dixie Darbe.

Darla was the first to offer a helping hand or give to the ones less fortunate. Darla loved many things in life, but most of all, she loved her family.

A celebration of life will be held for Darla and Doug in Chinook on August 2nd.
