Reasons for Celebration in August

Across the Hi-Line, August is fair month, and with the Blaine County Fair past, various families now focus on August as back-to-school month. While many of our monthly designations are in fact determined by activities and tradition, a fair number of national days are invented by organizations or companies hoping to generate interest in their mission or products. That's where we get National Creamsicle Day on August 14, for example, or National Potato Day on August 19.
