An estimated 60 guests enjoyed "Love Chocolate...Love Your Library" last week at the Harlem Public Library. The event, first suggested several years ago by former Lutheran pastor Ellen Ayers, was a celebration of chocolate in the library. Ayers told the library staff about "chocolate in the stacks" that she saw staged in another town where she once lived. She described the event as an interesting way to celebrate reading and chocolate. That suggestion was made almost six years ago. Library...

The library is going to do Hassle Free Christmas this year, however it will look a little different from years past. We are planning to have an open house in the library and vendors in the meeting room on Saturday December 3rd from 2:00-5:00. The Harlem Library will be closed Thanksgiving Day; but we will be open Friday, November 25. There are no children’s program this week but they will resume the week of November 28. The Friends of the Library are happy to announce the Holiday Wine & Cheese Fundraiser will be held again this year on December 7, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the library. The Blaine County Library Board of Trustees will hold their regular monthly meeting Monday October 31, 2022, at 4:30 p.m. in the library meeting room. Thank you to everyone who came out to the Pumpkin Patch over the weekend. We appreciate the support and generosity of the community. We had over 600 people come out and choose pumpkins. Livia Turner and Paisley MacLeod were the winners of the drawings. A huge shout out to Kenny Finley for generously donating the money raised from his Pumkin Patch to the library again this year. A small but enthusiastic audience enjoyed a lecture on Modernism in Montana art by MSU professor Dr. Michelle Corriel. Blaine County Museum Director Samantha French said she was pleased with the turnout and was looking forward to two future lectures scheduled for this fall. Kirk Jellum is a 1992 graduate of Chinook High School, Aerospace Engineer and an amazing large scale engineering car artist. The children’s programs are ready to go again this fall. Parents/caregivers are invited to bring their children to the library to participate in all the fun and educational activities we have available. The 2022 Sugarbeet Festival will take place this Saturday with activities and shows taking place all over Chinook. I was recently invited by Ken and Jeff Finley to attend a birthday party for Jeff and Lynette Finley's oldest grandchild who turned ten. The father-son team described the event as "our first trial run with real customers."
