The Fall dinner and Bazaar held at the American Lutheran Church in Harlem had fine weather and fine fellowship. Every year, it seems like a long time, we have had a raffle to support our LWR projects. Our church does a quilt project, and three kit projects The quilts tops are made from new and donated material, the batting and backing are new also. As we wrap up the first quarter at Chinook Public Schools I would like to share several academic adventures our staff has started to embark on Robotics, Coding and Stem Curriculum: At both buildings we are have a strong integration of Science, Technology and Math programs in our classrooms. Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks’ Havre hunter check station was active over the weekend (Oct. 20-21) of general deer and elk opener, with the number of hunters checked about average. This was the third weekend that the check station has been open, as the station began collecting data Oct. 6-7, corresponding with the opening weekend of pheasant and general antelope. The Turner Honor Society held an induction for incoming Honor Society Inductees this past week. Three new members, Brooke Reed, Shyan Krass, and Brandy Calvert, were inducted and joined into the chapter by the six other members and their advisor, Mrs. Shelly Harmon. The Blaine County Democratic Dinner on October 21 featuring Senator Jon Tester and Congressional candidate Kathleen Williams attracted a large crowd to Wallner Hall in Chinook. For Shawn Tsosie, completing a Doctorate Degree in Mathematics was a lifelong dream. Now, after graduating with a Ph.D. from the University of California, Santa Cruz in September, he has seen that dream fulfilled. Helena, Mont. – The Montana Department of Livestock (MDOL) has adopted changes to rules affecting vaccination requirements and the boundary of the Designated Surveillance Area (DSA). The newly adopted brucellosis vaccination rule (ARM 32.3.433) mandates that eligible animals in 10 Montana counties must be vaccinated against brucellosis. Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits for more than 67 million Americans will increase 2.8 percent in 2019, the Social Security Administration announced today.
